technology focus

InView developed Juice, a lightweight interactive service platform, to enable manufacturers to integrate advanced interactive capabilities into low cost digital television products such as set top boxes and IDTVs.

The Inview approach is unique:

  • Backwards compatible - to allow for download to STBs already in the market
  • No box re-engineering required - designed with a light footprint the system can be deployed using existing flash and ram in the vast majority of DTT hardware
  • Easy to integrate - Inviews experienced and expert team works closely with manufacturers to ensure maximum effectiveness with minimum manufacturer effort
  • Instantly recognisable to viewers - due to the existing deployed base of 9 million STBs
  • Fast and intuitive - adding value to hardware and familiarity for viewers
  • Allowing manufacturers to share in future revenues

The system comprises tools for head end content aggregation, object carousel creation, management and monitoring of broadcast content and a set of digital receiver modules that implement Juice. The platform operates within the existing FLASH and RAM Memory constraints of DTT hardware, whether STBs, IDTVs or PVRs, these products, enabling both new and legacy products to be upgraded to support new interactive services currently being broadcast.
